A major impersonation scandal has surfaced during physical and endurance tests for FIA recruitment, with four men arrested in Karachi and Peshawar for allegedly attempting to appear in the exams using fake identities.
According to FIA, three suspects were taken into custody at SSU Police Headquarters Malir after officials grew suspicious during initial document verification. Further scrutiny revealed that the men were allegedly trying to take the test in place of the original candidates.
The arrested suspects were identified as Bakhtiar, son of Alam, Shaman Ali, son of Roshan, and Amjad, son of Muhammad Arab. FIA said they were attempting to appear in the test under the names of Seheno Khan, Hadi Bakhsh, and Aftab Ahmed.
Officials said the suspects had allegedly tried to secure government jobs through forgery, but their attempt was foiled due to timely action. Legal proceedings have been initiated, while further investigation is under way to trace others who may be linked to the network.
FIA said strict monitoring is in place to ensure transparency and merit in the recruitment process, adding that the agency is following a zero-tolerance policy against cheating and fraud.
In a separate incident in Peshawar, police also foiled an attempt to impersonate a candidate during the FIA physical test being held at Ground No. 2 of the University of Peshawar under the FIA and National Police Foundation recruitment process.
During security checks and snap checking around the venue, police stopped a suspicious individual and examined his documents. Initial verification showed that instead of candidate Mansoor Ahmad, son of Gulistan, another man identified as Muhammad Adil, son of Abdul Jalil, had allegedly arrived to take the test on his behalf.
Police said further verification confirmed the fraud attempt, after which the suspect was arrested on the spot.
