Govt Spent Rs. 139.16 Billion on Hajj 2026

A total of 119,210 Pakistanis performed Hajj this year under the government scheme, with overall spending reaching Rs. 139.16 billion.

According to the reported figures, 77,743 pilgrims opted for the long Hajj package lasting 40 to 45 days. This accounted for 65.2 percent of the total government Hajj quota, with each pilgrim paying Rs. 1.15 million under the package.

Meanwhile, 41,467 pilgrims performed Hajj under the short package, which lasted between 20 and 22 days. They made up 34.8 percent of the government scheme, with each pilgrim paying Rs. 1.2 million.

The data also showed that 50,114 women performed Hajj under the government scheme, making up 43.5 percent of the total quota.

In comparison, 65,182 men availed the government Hajj scheme, accounting for 56.5 percent of the total pilgrims.

The figures provide a breakdown of how pilgrims were distributed across the long and short packages, as well as the gender split within this year’s government Hajj scheme.
