Rain Predicted in Some Cities of Pakistan

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast rain in several cities of Pakistan on June 11 and 12, even as most parts of the country continue to face intense heat.

According to the latest advisory, rain and strong winds are expected in Islamabad, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Punjab during the two-day period. Cities where rainfall is likely include Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore.

The authority said the spell may bring some relief to areas that have been experiencing high temperatures in recent days. However, hot weather is still expected to dominate across much of the country before that system arrives.

Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan are likely to remain under severe heat, with temperatures expected to rise further in several areas. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and northern Punjab are also expected to stay in the grip of intense heat from June 7 to 10.

In Sindh, hot and dry weather is expected to continue in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, and other parts of the province.

The advisory also said northeastern districts of Balochistan, including Zhob and Musakhel, may receive light rain with thunder on June 11 and 12.

While the expected rainfall is limited to selected areas, the broader weather outlook suggests that most of the country will continue to experience harsh summer conditions over the coming days.
