A new leak has revised some of the expected specifications for the Redmi K100 Pro, including its battery capacity.
Tipster Digital Chat Station previously claimed that the phone could feature a 9,000mAh or larger battery. However, the latest post reportedly says the battery capacity will start with an 8, placing it somewhere between 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh.
That could still make it one of the largest batteries in the Redmi K series, but it is no longer certain that it will exceed the Redmi K90 Max. For comparison, the Redmi K90 Max has an 8,550mAh battery.
Charging Support
The earlier leak mentioned 100W wired charging but did not provide details about wireless charging.
The updated report says the Redmi K100 Pro will also support 50W wireless charging. If accurate, this would give the phone both fast wired charging and wireless charging support.
Chipset And Extra Processor
The Redmi K100 Pro is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The latest post also mentions a dual-core platform. This may refer to an additional chip similar to Xiaomi’s D2 chip, which was used inside the Redmi K90 Max and K90 Pro Max.
The D2 chip added extra AI computing power and helped improve graphics output to the display.
Display
The Redmi K100 Pro is also tipped to feature an 185Hz display.
Games will likely need support from an additional chip, such as the 2, or a similar processor, to reach that refresh rate in supported titles.
Digital Chat Station also described the panel as an “Ultra clear display.” Xiaomi has used similar wording for some of its gaming monitors and TVs, although the exact meaning of the Redmi K100 Pro is still unclear.
Camera Setup
The phone is expected to feature a 200MP main camera.
The leak also points to a 50MP telephoto camera with macro support. This suggests the telephoto camera may also be used for close-up shots, although Xiaomi has not confirmed the camera hardware.
Other Features
The Redmi K100 Pro is also tipped to include symmetrical stereo speakers and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
The body is described as fully waterproof. This may refer to a high water resistance rating, possibly IP69, but the exact certification has not been confirmed.
The leak also says the phone will have an Apple-inspired design.
Redmi K100 Pro Max
Separate leaks have also mentioned the Redmi K100 Pro Max.
That model is expected to feature a 1/1.28 inch 200MP main camera and a 50MP periscope camera. It is also rumored to use the still unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, compared with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 expected on the Redmi K100 Pro.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max could also be more expensive than earlier K series models, although pricing details remain unconfirmed.
Expected Launch
Xiaomi has not officially announced the Redmi K100 Pro or confirmed its specifications.
For now, the details remain based on leaks. The updated battery claim shows that the specifications may still change before launch.
