Solar system prices have surged ahead of the federal budget announcement, with market sources reporting sharp increases across multiple system categories.
According to market estimates, the prices of on-grid solar systems ranging from 5kW to 15kW have increased by up to Rs. 200,000 in recent days.
The price of a 5kW solar system has risen by Rs. 150,000 to Rs. 650,000, while a 7kW system is now being sold for Rs. 825,000 after an increase of Rs. 200,000.
Similarly, the cost of a 10kW solar system has climbed from Rs. 900,000 to Rs. 1.1 million. The price of a 12kW system has reached Rs. 1.25 million, while a 15kW system now costs Rs. 1.45 million, up from Rs. 1.3 million.
The reported prices apply only to on-grid solar systems. Consumers opting for off-grid setups will have to bear additional costs for battery storage systems.
The increase comes days before the announcement of the new fiscal year’s budget, amid uncertainty surrounding potential changes affecting the solar energy sector.
