The administration of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued directives to hand over possession of 3,000 residential plots in two sectors of Islamabad during the current week.
The move is expected to provide long-awaited relief to thousands of allottees who have been waiting for years to begin construction on their properties.
According to sources, possession of 1,000 plots in Sector I-12/1 and 2,000 plots in Sector E-12 will be granted for construction purposes. The decision follows a recent CDA Board meeting in which approval was given to allow development and construction activities in the two sectors that have remained delayed for an extended period.
Officials said all necessary arrangements have been completed for the possession process. There is a strong possibility that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will personally distribute possession letters to allottees within the next two days, formally launching construction activities in the sectors.
Under the initial phase, CDA will hand over possession of 1,000 plots in I-12/1. Similarly, 2,000 allottees in E-12/2 and E-12/3 will receive possession of their plots.
The development is expected to help fulfill the long-standing dream of homeownership for residents who have been waiting nearly four decades for progress in the sector.
Allottees have welcomed the initiative and praised the efforts of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf. They expressed hope that possession of plots in the remaining sub-sectors will also be granted soon, enabling more residents to begin constructing their homes.
