PAA to Install Chairlifts, Cable Cars, and Zip Lines at Three Major Airports

The Pakistan Airports Authority is planning to introduce chairlifts, cable cars, and zip lines at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports as part of a new passenger facility project.

According to the plan, the new transport options will be installed at Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, and New Islamabad International Airport.

The authority’s commercial wing has already issued a tender and invited interested companies to submit bids for the project.

Under the proposed arrangement, passengers will be able to travel from the terminal building to parking areas through chairlifts, cable cars, and zip lines.

Officials say the idea is intended to improve convenience for travelers and reduce the time spent moving between airport facilities.

Authorities have described the project as a step aimed at combining utility with a more modern travel experience at three of the country’s busiest airports.

If the plan moves forward, it would mark an unusual addition to airport transport infrastructure in Pakistan, with the facilities expected to serve both practical and recreational purposes for passengers.
