The National Highway Authority (NHA) has completed the bidding process for 81 of its 93 toll plazas nationwide, generating more than Rs. 1.06 billion above its revenue target for the 2026-27 financial year.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the auction was conducted under approved procedures and terms. The bidding process resulted in winning offers averaging around 30 percent higher than the reserve prices set for the toll plazas.
Several major companies and private firms secured operational rights for toll plazas, including the National Logistics Cell (NLC), Ali Enterprises, Muhammad Ramzan & Company and Gohar Hayat.
Among the highest monthly bids recorded were Jamshoro Toll Plaza at Rs. 156.67 million and Sangjani Toll Plaza at Rs. 134.85 million. The NHA said Bewata Toll Plaza on the N-70 and Nokundi Toll Plaza on the N-40 recorded the largest increases over reserve prices, with bids exceeding the benchmarks by 880 percent and 154 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, 12 toll plazas remain unawarded. Of these, one is subject to an ongoing court case, nine did not attract any bids and two failed to receive registrations for participation in the auction.
The authority said the auction process for the remaining toll plazas will continue, adding that the results so far reflect strong investor interest and significant revenue generation for the national highway network.
