The federal government employees are expected to receive a 10 percent salary increase in the upcoming Budget 2026-27, sources told ProPakistani a short while ago.
The federal budget for 2026-27 is likely to be set at around Rs. 18 trillion, with new tax measures worth Rs. 220 billion under consideration, according to budget-related documents.
Alongside the proposed salary hike, relief in income tax for salaried individuals is also expected. Officials are considering tax adjustments for those earning between Rs. 1.2 million and Rs. 2.4 million annually.
Sources said authorities are also evaluating a possible reduction in the super tax, while the corporate income tax rate is expected to remain unchanged.
On the spending side, the non-development budget for federal ministries and departments may be set at around Rs. 1,070 billion, while pension allocations are projected to exceed Rs. 1,100 billion.
