JazzWorld Promotes Waste Reduction Through Rawal Dam Cleanliness Drive in Partnership with CDA and MCI

JazzWorld, in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), organized the Rawal Dam Cleanliness Drive at Kinara Park, Rawal Lake, to help preserve one of Islamabad’s most valued natural and recreational spaces. The activity demonstrates the organization’s commitment to reducing environmental waste, minimizing the burden on landfills, and fostering community engagement.

The initiative brought together more than 200 volunteers, who actively participated in collecting nearly 2 tons of waste from the park and surrounding recreational areas using 80 waste bags. The drive ensured that responsible waste collection prevented pollution of the area’s natural ecosystem while promoting cleaner public spaces and raising awareness about waste reduction and responsible disposal practices.

The event was attended by senior officials from CDA and MCI, reflecting a shared commitment between public institutions and the private sector to address environmental challenges through community-driven initiatives. Rawal Lake is one of Islamabad’s most important ecological and recreational assets, and the cleanup effort contributed to protecting its ecosystem while reinforcing the importance of sustainable waste management and civic responsibility.

Commenting on the initiative, Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate & Regulatory Officer, said: “Sustainability is not limited to policy commitments at JazzWorld; it is reflected in the actions of our people. Every kilogram of waste removed from our public spaces is a step toward protecting our environment. This cleanup drive demonstrates how collective participation can create meaningful environmental impact and inspire greater responsibility toward the spaces we all share.”

The cleanup drive is an integral part of JazzWorld’s broader ESG agenda, which focuses on environmental sustainability, community wellbeing, and employee engagement. JazzWorld, by collaborating with institutions such as CDA and MCI, continues to support initiatives that reduce waste, promote responsible environmental practices, encourage civic participation, and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable Pakistan.
