The University of Lahore Awarded QS Stars 5-Star Overall Rating – “Rated Excellent”

The University of Lahore has been awarded an overall 5 Stars rating, designated “Rated Excellent”, by QS Stars, the international evaluation system developed by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The recognition was granted following rigorous and independent data collection and analysis of the university’s performance against pre-established international benchmarks set out in the QS Stars methodology.

The University of Lahore earned five stars in seven of the nine assessed categories: Teaching, Research, Facilities, Employability, Medicine, Environmental Impact, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The university also received four-star ratings in Global Engagement and Good Governance.

The QS Stars system evaluates universities across a wide spectrum of performance indicators, assessing a broader scope of criteria than traditional world ranking exercises. The breadth of this result — spanning academic quality, research strength, clinical education, sustainability, facilities, employability, and institutional inclusion — reflects the university’s performance across its full institutional operation rather than in isolated areas.

Founded in 1999, the University of Lahore has grown into one of Pakistan’s largest private universities, with enrollment exceeding 35,000 students across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Sustained investment in teaching quality, research capacity, international partnerships, campus development, and student support has been central to this achievement.
