The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Friday approved the provision of an additional 50,000 metric tons of wheat from PASSCO stocks to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to help meet its wheat requirements.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division.
The approval came on a summary submitted by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Under the decision, the wheat will be supplied at a rate of Rs. 4,150 per 40 kilograms.
Officials said the additional allocation will help ensure adequate wheat availability in the province and support its food supply requirements.
The ECC meeting also considered and approved a number of other financial proposals and Technical Supplementary Grants submitted by various ministries and departments.
