The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has provided two anti-smog guns to Faisalabad to help improve air quality and curb pollution ahead of the winter smog season.
EPA Director General Imran Hamid Sheikh inaugurated the machines at the DC Office Complex in Faisalabad.
During the ceremony, The University of Faisalabad and the EPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research on smog prevention and control. Participants were also briefed on measures aimed at reducing air pollution.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh said the anti-smog guns were introduced in Faisalabad after similar equipment was used in Lahore last year. He said the machines release a fine mist of water at pollution hotspots to suppress dust and airborne particles, helping reduce smog levels.
Sheikh said the Punjab government is continuing efforts to improve environmental conditions through the use of modern technology and other preventive measures.
