KP Govt Increases PTC Grants for Schools

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has significantly increased Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) grants for public schools and approved a revised structure for fund distribution.

The provincial cabinet approved the division of grants into three new categories to improve school facilities and management.

Under the revised plan, the classroom consumables grant has been increased from Rs6,000 to Rs13,000 per classroom. The repair grant has also been raised from Rs7,000 to Rs16,000 per classroom.

In addition, the government has introduced a new per-student capitation grant of Rs300 aimed at improving student enrollment and attendance in public schools.

Officials said a total of Rs6.185 billion had been allocated annually for PTC grants. The Finance Department has released Rs3.073 billion for the third and fourth quarters.

Of this, Rs2.7387 billion has been allocated for settled districts, while Rs334.2 million has been released for merged districts.

Authorities confirmed that with the latest release of funds, 100% disbursement of PTC grants to schools has now been completed.
