The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has accelerated work on a new mobile application aimed at enabling online passport renewal and digital processing of applications across Pakistan.
A high-level meeting chaired by DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa reviewed ongoing progress on the digitalization of passport services.
Officials were briefed that development of the mobile app has been expedited, and the facility for online passport renewal is expected to be launched soon.
The proposed mobile application will allow citizens to apply for passport services, renew documents, and complete application processing online, reducing the need for physical visits to offices.
The meeting, held at the Passport and Immigration Headquarters, was also attended by NADRA officials. Participants discussed the establishment of passport counters at NADRA centers across the country to provide citizens with multiple services under one roof.
DG Immigration directed officials to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects and emphasized improving service delivery through technology-driven solutions.
Officials also reviewed the expansion of the home delivery service for passports, which aims to provide citizens with documents at their doorstep.
Authorities said the integration of modern technology will enhance transparency, efficiency, and convenience in passport services, marking a significant step toward digital governance in Pakistan.
