National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resilience through a tree plantation activity held at Clifton Urban Forest, Karachi. The initiative reflects NBP’s ongoing efforts to contribute towards a greener and healthier Pakistan while supporting national and global objectives that tie sustainability and financial.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Faisal Ahmed Topra, Group Chief Operations, NBP emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges saying “This tree plantation is part of our long-term positive impact for communities and future generations. NBP seeks to raise awareness about environmental conservation, and encourage employee participation in community engagement activities.”
Masood Lohar, Founder Clifton Urban Forest highlighted, “Today we have organized this tree plantation activity with NBP. Our dedicated team makes sure that these planted saplings do not get effected harmfully and grow into a healthy tree with proper maintenance within 3-5 years. With a city as big as Karachi, tree plantation is not enough, we should plan urban forestry and organizations should plan this initiative nationally.”
