Pound Falls Near 360, Euro At 315 Against Pakistani Rupee to End Week

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 186th consecutive day on Wednesday.

Euro (EUR) maintained a downward path similar to last week. Some traders quoted sell rate of Rs. 315-316 earlier today, a trader informed ProPakistani.

Pound again tumbled after yesterday’s jump.

The PKR closed at 278.20 after gaining one paisa against the US Dollar today.

At current pace, it is likely that the PKR will recover above 277/$ near end-June.

PKR ended the small week ahead of the long weekend after news that the first Pakistan-mediated technical level talks between the US and Iran had concluded positively. Qatar also assisted in the talks with solid legal work of their own.

The next two days are public holidays on the occasion of the Ashura (9th/10th Muharram).

Other Currencies

PKR was stable against the UAE Dirham (AED) but lost one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
