The Punjab Traffic Police will launch a provincewide crackdown on motorists who fail to pay their e-challans from July 1, with authorities warning that strict legal action will be taken against defaulters.
Under a zero tolerance policy, traffic police officers across Punjab have been equipped with the Traffic One app, enabling them to instantly verify outstanding e-challans and recover pending dues during roadside checks.
According to the Traffic Police, motorists can check the status of their e-challans through the Punjab Safe Cities Authority website. Vehicles and motorcycles with unpaid e-challans may be impounded if owners fail to clear their outstanding dues.
DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir urged citizens to pay their e-challans on time to avoid legal action. He said the Traffic Police will continue taking strict action against traffic law violators without discrimination to improve road safety and ensure better traffic discipline across the province.

It is the irony of the matter that instead of mailing the challans to the defaulters Traffic Department use to adopt an easy solution of making a file and then filing the challans in it. There is a tough time for a Pakistani citizen to run his daily routine and this action of Traffic Department is really like adding a straw to the poor Camel.
