Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will travel to Iran this week to attend the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to details shared in the report.
The prime minister is expected to begin a two-country visit on July 3, with Iran as the first stop. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, while Bilawal is also set to join the visit.
During the Iran leg of the trip, Bilawal is likely to hold meetings with the Iranian president and other senior officials.
After concluding engagements in Iran, PM Shehbaz will travel to Turkiye on July 4 for a bilateral meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The funeral gathering for Khamenei is expected to take place in Tehran on July 6, with major crowds anticipated on key routes including Enghelab Road, Lashkari Road, and Azadi Road. Funeral prayers are also expected to be held in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad.
According to the details provided, a very large number of mourners from within Iran and abroad are expected to attend, and final arrangements are being put in place.
After returning from Iran, Bilawal is also expected to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the region’s chief minister.
