Hackers Play Pakistan National Anthem on Indian Channels During Presidential Speech

Pakistani hackers allegedly targeted two Indian news channels, briefly replacing the regular transmission with Pakistan’s national anthem and on-screen warning messages, according to claims circulating on social media.

The channels named in the claims are Freedom TV Live and TV9 Telugu. The alleged disruption reportedly took place during a speech by the Indian president, though the incident has not been independently verified.

Screenshots and posts shared online claimed the hackers displayed two messages on the affected broadcasts. One of them read, “Indians, tell your masters not to mess with Pakistan,” while another said, “When you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones across the border.”

The matter gained attention after Punjab lawmaker Hina Pervez Butt shared the development on her official X account. She claimed the action came in response to an alleged attempt by Indian hackers to target Pakistani media outlets, including Samaa News and Geo News, though she said those efforts did not succeed.

Calling it a retaliatory move, Butt said the incident sent a strong message to India. Her post framed the alleged hack as a response to cross-border cyber aggression.

The latest claim also revived discussion around an earlier reported cyber intrusion from March 2, when a Pakistani cyber group was said to have hacked Indian channel ABP. Reports at the time claimed the channel briefly aired a pro-Pakistan video message featuring Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad,” before normal transmission resumed.

So far, there has been no official confirmation from the Indian channels named in the latest claims, and the full extent of the alleged breach remains unclear.
