OGDCL Completes New Gas Producing Well in Sindh

il and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has completed drilling of the Chak 63-05 development well in Sanghar district, Sindh, with production testing showing encouraging gas and condensate output.

During testing, the well produced 10.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) and 600 barrels of condensate per day (BPD) through a 32/64 inch choke at a wellhead flowing pressure of 2,580 pounds per square inch gauge (psig).

The Chak 63-05 well was spudded on April 20, 2026, and drilled to a total depth of 3,325 meters. It was completed in the Massive Sand reservoir within the Chak 63 Development and Production Lease located in Sanghar.

OGDCL said the well will be connected to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) transmission network, while work is underway to bring the production online at the earliest.

OGDCL operates the Chak 63 Development and Production Lease with a 62.5 percent working interest. Other partners include Government Holdings (Private) Limited with 22.5 percent and Orient Petroleum Inc. Limited with 15 percent working interests.

The new production is expected to support domestic natural gas supplies as Pakistan continues efforts to enhance indigenous hydrocarbon production and reduce reliance on imported energy.
