Xiaomi’s 40-Hour Handheld Fan is Ideal for Beating Pakistan’s Heatwave

With temperatures rising across Pakistan, Xiaomi’s latest portable fan could offer some relief for people dealing with the heat outdoors or during power outages.

The company has introduced a new green version of its Mijia Handheld Fan with strong airflow, 100 adjustable speed levels, and up to 40 hours of battery life.

The fan is only available in China for now, but given how regularly Xiaomi’s gadgets are reaching Pakistan, there is a high chance we will see it in the local market as well.

Xiaomi is currently offering the fan through its crowdfunding platform for around $25. Its regular retail price will be approximately $36.

40-Hour Battery

The fan contains a 5,000 mAh lithium-ion battery that can provide up to 40 hours of use at the lowest speed setting.

It charges through a USB-C port and supports fast charging. A 10-minute charge can provide up to four hours of operation when used with a compatible charger.

The fan can also be charged through a power bank, making it suitable for longer outdoor use or during power outages.

Strong Airflow

The Mijia Handheld Fan uses a DC variable-frequency motor that can operate at up to 10,000 revolutions per minute.

It produces wind speeds of up to 8.5 metres per second and can push air as far as five metres. Its maximum airflow volume reaches 250 cubic metres per hour.

At the highest speed, the fan produces 69 dB(A) of noise, which is typical for a motor running at this level.

Adjustable Speed

A small LED display on the front shows the current speed setting and remaining battery percentage.

Unlike handheld fans that offer only a few fixed speed options, the Mijia model provides 100 levels of stepless speed adjustment.

Users can control the airflow through a slider, allowing them to select a more precise speed based on their needs.

Compact Design

The fan weighs 260 grams and measures 63 × 64 × 167mm, making it small enough to carry while travelling or spending time outdoors. Xiaomi includes an adjustable crossbody strap for easier transportation.

The device also has a sliding power switch designed to prevent accidental activation while stored in a bag. The Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan is available in Green and White.
