GTA 6 Just 20 Thursdays Away From Global Release

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is now officially just 20 Thursdays away from global release.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

With exactly 20 Thursdays remaining, fans have flooded social media with countdown posts.

Rockstar only recently opened global pre-orders for GTA 6, ending years of speculation and anticipation. The game is already being tipped to become one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time.

The release date has seen multiple changes. Rockstar initially targeted a 2025 launch before delaying the game to May 26, 2026, due to additional development complications. The studio later pushed the launch to November 19, 2026 to further polish the game and deliver what it called the quality fans expect.

Set in the fictional state of Leonida, GTA 6 returns players to the iconic Vice City and introduces dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, making Lucia the first female lead in the modern history of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Rockstar has also confirmed that the game will launch on current-generation consoles only, with no PC version announced so far.

The game’s launch is expected to have a major impact on the wider gaming industry. Publishers are adjusting their release schedules to avoid competing directly with Rockstar’s blockbuster title, while retailers are preparing for a surge in demand for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles ahead of release.

Other reports have also emerged that GTA V’s iconic Michael De Santa could return to the new game. Nothing on Trevor yet.
