Public Holiday Announced Across Entire Punjab District

The district administration of Vehari has announced a public holiday on July 11 across the entire district to mark the annual Urs of Baba Diwan Haji Sher.

According to Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed, the three-day Urs celebrations in Vehari will begin on July 9, with the district-wide holiday falling on the final day of the event.

An official notification issued by the Vehari district administration states that government offices and public institutions across the district will remain closed on July 11.

However, examinations being conducted by educational boards and universities will continue as scheduled and will not be affected by the holiday.

The administration also clarified that essential services in Vehari will remain operational throughout the holiday.

Administrative departments, hospitals, emergency services, and security agencies will continue performing their duties to ensure smooth arrangements and maintain law and order during the Urs celebrations.

The annual Urs of Baba Diwan Haji Sher attracts thousands of devotees to Vehari every year, prompting the district administration to make special security and administrative arrangements for the three-day religious event.
