OnePlus has announced that it will exit the European and North American markets, ending new product launches in both regions.
The company said it decided to do so as part of a global strategy adjustment. Existing OnePlus users in Europe and North America will continue to receive software updates, security patches, warranty support, and after-sales service according to existing commitments.
OnePlus will no longer release new devices in Europe and North America.
However, remaining inventory may continue to be sold in the affected markets for now. The company also said customer support channels will remain open so existing users can receive warranty and service support.
The North American OnePlus Community website and app will shut down on August 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. The European Community and stores will remain open for now.
OnePlus has said its India business will continue as usual.
The company pushed back against reports that it may also leave India, saying local operations remain on track. OnePlus said India remains one of its most important markets and pointed to recent product launches and upcoming devices, including the OnePlus N6x.
This means Indian users should continue to see new OnePlus products, service support, and local operations for now.
OnePlus also confirmed a major software change.
All eligible OnePlus devices will move from OxygenOS to ColorOS with the Android 17 update. The company said the switch will streamline software development and help deliver a more stable and future-ready experience.
OnePlus and Oppo already share a software codebase, and OnePlus phones in China have used ColorOS for years. Existing eligible users will reportedly get the option to move to ColorOS 17 when the update becomes available.
The announcement follows weeks of rumors about OnePlus reducing its global presence.
Bloomberg previously reported that OnePlus could eventually leave most markets outside China, including India, by 2027. OnePlus has not confirmed that claim and has instead said that India operations are continuing normally.
For now, the confirmed change is limited to Europe and North America. OnePlus users in those regions will stop seeing new product launches, but existing devices will remain supported according to the company’s update and warranty commitments.
