Global Redmi Note 17 Variants May Have This Downgrade

Xiaomi appears to be preparing the global version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro after launching the phone in China earlier this week.

A new listing in the NBD import and export database points to a global Redmi Note 17 Pro model with the model number 2607DRA18G. The Chinese version carries the model number 2607DRA18C, with the final letter usually indicating the target market. In this case, “G” points to a global model, while “C” refers to China.

Global Model Spotted With Two Memory Options

The database records reportedly show two RAM and storage configurations for the global Redmi Note 17 Pro.

These include 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. The listings also show shipments to Pakistan and Vietnam, with records dated May 16 and May 25, 2026.

This suggests that the global Redmi Note 17 Pro could launch with lower base memory options than the Chinese model.

China Version Has Higher Configurations

The Redmi Note 17 Pro launched in China with a larger 9,000mAh battery, a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, and up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

In China, the phone is available in multiple configurations, starting from 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Other versions include 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB.

Poco Rebrand Also Spotted

The leak also points to a related Poco-branded device.

A smartphone with the model number 2607DPC18G has appeared in the same database. The model number is almost identical to the global Redmi Note 17 Pro, except that “RA” has been replaced with “PC,” which likely refers to Poco.

This suggests that Xiaomi may also sell a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro under the Poco brand. However, the final marketing name has not been confirmed.

The report adds that Xiaomi’s recent naming strategy has previously created confusion. A Poco device linked to the Redmi Note 17 was earlier expected to launch as the Poco M8 Plus, but later firmware details reportedly pointed to the Poco M8 Power name instead.

Battery May Be Smaller Globally

The global Redmi Note 17 Pro may also get a smaller battery than the Chinese model.

According to the leak, the global variant could pack an 8,340mAh rated battery, which would likely be marketed as a typical 8,500mAh capacity. That would be lower than the 9,000mAh battery used in the Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro.

The Indian version is still rumored to retain the same 9,000mAh battery as the Chinese model.

Launch Details Still Missing

Xiaomi has not officially announced the global launch date for the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

The database listing suggests that preparations are underway, but the final memory options, Poco branding, pricing, and market availability remain unconfirmed for now.
