Meta has added Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition membership to its Meta Horizon+ subscription service for Quest headset owners at no extra cost.
The bundle gives Horizon+ subscribers access to more than 50 Xbox games alongside the more than 100 virtual reality games already included with the service.
Subscribers can stream Xbox games on a large virtual display inside their Quest headset for up to 10 hours each month.
Discord introduced a similar benefit for its Nitro subscribers in May.
Xbox Controller Currently Required
Quest users currently need an Xbox controller to play the included games.
However, Meta plans to update the Touch Controllers for the Quest 3 and Quest 3S so they can emulate an Xbox controller.
Meta said the firmware update will begin rolling out in the coming weeks.
More Than 50 Xbox Games Included
Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition includes games such as:
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Overcooked 2
- Grounded
- DayZ
The Xbox games do not offer a fully immersive virtual reality experience. Instead, players can stream them on a virtual screen inside the headset.
The virtual display can appear as large as a 26-foot screen. Users can also play the games inside an Xbox-themed virtual environment.
Horizon+ Includes More Than 100 VR Games
Meta Horizon+ also provides access to more than 100 virtual reality games that subscribers can download and play on compatible Quest headsets.
The subscription costs $59.99 or £59.99 per year. A monthly subscription costs $7.99 or £7.99.
New subscribers receive their first month free.
Meta is also expected to share information about future Quest devices during its Meta Connect event in September.
