Nestlé Pakistan’s majority shareholder, Nestlé S.A., has entered into an agreement with private equity firm Platinum Equity to create a new 50-50 joint venture that will combine Nestlé’s global waters and premium beverages business into a standalone company called Peranel.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company stated that the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to employee consultations and regulatory approvals.
The new company will manage more than 30 brands sold across 120 countries, including global mineral water brands such as S.Pellegrino, Perrier, Acqua Panna, Nestlé Pure Life, and several regional water brands.
Peranel is expected to be headquartered in Paris and led by Muriel Lienau, the current chief executive of Nestlé’s waters and premium beverages business.
Nestlé Pakistan said its local water operations are part of the global business included in the transaction. However, the implementation of the deal in Pakistan remains subject to definitive agreements and the required corporate and regulatory approvals.
At this stage, the company said it only intends to incorporate a local entity, with further announcements to be made if any material developments arise.
Nestlé said the joint venture is designed to create a dedicated company with a stronger focus on accelerating growth in the global water and premium beverages market while benefiting from the operational expertise of both partners.
