The National Database and Registration Authority has introduced a free iris scan service at all its registration centres across Pakistan to strengthen identity records and improve biometric verification.
NADRA said citizens can visit their nearest registration centre and use the facility free of charge. It also urged parents to bring children aged three and above for iris registration.
The iris scan system uses the unique patterns of the eye’s iris to verify identity and adds another layer of biometric authentication to existing methods.
The authority said the initiative will make identity verification more secure, accurate and reliable. It added that the expanded biometric database will help protect citizens’ records from misuse and fraud while making future verification faster and easier.
