Quetta is Getting AI Traffic Signals to Combat Congestion

The Balochistan government has decided to install artificial intelligence (AI)-powered traffic signals in Quetta to provide a long-term solution to the city’s growing traffic problems.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where officials reviewed plans to introduce a modern traffic management system across the provincial capital.

Officials informed the meeting that AI-based signals would be activated to manage rising traffic pressure and regulate the flow of vehicles more efficiently.

The chief minister directed the relevant departments to coordinate their efforts and ensure the establishment of an effective, sustainable, and modern traffic system.

He said the use of modern technology would help improve traffic flow and provide citizens with safer, more organized, and convenient travel facilities.

CM Bugti noted that public convenience and road safety remained among the provincial government’s top priorities, adding that the use of technology to address traffic problems was an important part of its reform agenda.

According to the chief minister, the AI-powered system will reduce travel time while improving road discipline, transparency, and traffic monitoring.

He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upgrading Quetta’s urban infrastructure and providing residents with a safer and more efficient transport environment.
