Xiaomi Reportedly Shutting Down Popular Smartphone Series

Xiaomi has reportedly ended its Civi smartphone series, with no indication that the lifestyle-focused lineup will return in the company’s next product generation.

Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station made the claim while responding to a user on Weibo, saying the Civi line had been shut down and showed no signs of being revived for another generation. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the decision, so the information should still be treated as an unverified report.

Civi 6 Reportedly Cancelled

The latest claim appears to settle months of conflicting reports about the proposed Xiaomi Civi 6.

Earlier information suggested Xiaomi had cancelled the phone because of weak sales from the previous generation. A later leak claimed development had resumed and revealed several possible specifications, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 200MP camera and a dedicated, remappable AI button.

Other rumoured features included a 6.59-inch quad-curved display, a 50MP selfie camera, a telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, dual speakers, a metal frame and a glass rear panel. None of those specifications were officially confirmed by Xiaomi.

Digital Chat Station’s latest statement now suggests the Civi 6 will not arrive and that Xiaomi has ended the wider series rather than merely skipping one generation.

End of a Five-Year Lineup

Xiaomi introduced the original Civi in China in September 2021 as a design-focused smartphone aimed largely at younger buyers.

The lineup placed particular emphasis on slim designs, selfie cameras and photography features. Xiaomi subsequently released the Civi 1S, Civi 2, Civi 3, Civi 4 Pro and Civi 5 Pro.

Xiaomi also took the series outside China by releasing the Civi 4 Pro as the Xiaomi 14 Civi in India. A similar international release was reportedly considered for the Civi 5 Pro under the Xiaomi 15 Civi name, although that model did not receive a wide global launch.

The Civi 5 Pro became the final officially released member of the family when it launched in China in May 2025. It arrived with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a 50MP front camera, Leica-branded rear cameras and a starting price of 2,999 yuan.

T-Series May Take Its Place

The report suggests Xiaomi could place greater focus on its T-series instead of maintaining another separate premium mid-range family.

Xiaomi introduced the 17T and 17T Pro globally in May 2026 before bringing the range to China for the first time in June. The move gives Xiaomi another lineup positioned below its main flagship phones while offering high-end processors, Leica camera systems and large batteries.

However, Xiaomi has not said that the T-series directly replaces Civi, and the company has not publicly explained the future of the Civi brand.

No Official Confirmation

Inconsistent sales across different markets reportedly made it difficult for Xiaomi to justify continuing the Civi series.

Even so, the latest information still comes from a tipster rather than Xiaomi itself. The company has neither confirmed the lineup’s discontinuation nor announced a Civi 6.

For now, the Civi 5 Pro appears to be the final phone in the series, and the possibility of a next-generation model looks increasingly remote.
