The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a major road rehabilitation project to repair and resurface four of Islamabad’s busiest roads in an effort to improve traffic flow and road safety.
According to the authority, the project will cover Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue, Murree Road, and the Islamabad Expressway. These routes serve thousands of commuters every day and are among the capital’s most heavily used road networks.
The rehabilitation work will include resurfacing damaged sections of the roads to improve driving conditions and reduce wear and tear on vehicles. The initiative is also expected to enhance traffic flow and shorten travel times for daily commuters.
CDA said construction work will begin once the tendering process is completed and the contracts are awarded. The authority has not yet announced a timeline for the project’s completion.
Last month, authorities confirmed that the Rs. 10 billion Park Road infrastructure project is progressing on schedule, with the underpass expected to be completed first, followed by the remaining roadworks.
The project includes an underpass, overhead infrastructure, and service roads designed to improve connectivity between Park Road, Margalla Avenue, and surrounding areas while easing congestion and reducing travel times for commuters.
