Last year, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) introduced an SMS service that allows you to check your eligibility for voting free of cost. Previously, the users were charged Rs. 2 + tax per message.
Voters can also check where their votes are registered by sending a text to 8300 with their NIC number without hyphens (-). You will immediately get all the details about your vote via SMS. This service is easy because it will save a lot of time and also that your physical presence won’t be necessary. It suits all Pakistanis living abroad for the same reasons.
NADRA broadcasts awareness SMS messages to the masses via numbers like 8300, 8400, 8500, 7000, 9777, and 9888. Thus, do not ignore such messages as they will inform you about various government health programs, citizen verification messages, and other important information. They’ll also aid you with issues like getting identity proof and receiving the government’s help during times of stress. Simply follow the guidelines provided in the text to verify your vote online.
