Muslims across Pakistan are observing the 26th fast of the holy month of Ramadan 2022 on Thursday, 28th of April. With different cities in Pakistan having distinct timetables for Sehri and Iftar, we have compiled the timings for today, the 28th of April (26th Ramadan) in the major cities of Pakistan.
Ramadan is an opportunity for Muslims to grow closer to Allah Almighty, learn and act on Islamic teachings as well as make spiritual reflections. The primary goal of Ramadan is to become a better Muslim and one of the best ways to do so is by engaging in ‘ibadat’ as much as possible.
The 5 obligatory prayers should not be mere rituals of ‘qayyam’, ‘rukku’, and ‘sajood’, but one should try to inculcate ‘khushu’ and ‘khuzu’ in their prayers. In Ramadan, other than the obligatory prayers, one should pray ‘nafil’ salaah as well.
Tahajjud is one of the many ‘nafil’ salaahs that holds great importance and is a source of great reward for Muslims. It is performed in the early part of the night, the middle part of the night, or the latter part of the night, but after the obligatory night prayer ‘Isha’.
The importance of Tahajjud is even mentioned in Quran:
And rise at ˹the last˺ part of the night, offering additional prayers, so your Lord may raise you to a station of praise. (17:79)
