10 Memorable Villains from Pakistani Dramas

The best villains make for the best heroes.

villains in Pakistani dramas

Some folks are content with playing the hero, but it’s often the bad guy who steals the show! It is not unheard of actors to turn into completely different people, just so that they can bring a menacing character to life. As the saying goes, heroes are judged by the quality of villains they face, and this is true for our favorite TV shows.

We often see the same Pakistani actors essay heroes and the usual artists play the bad guy. Yet some incredible Pakistani actors jumped out of their skin to essay a villain that we all love to hate.

When it comes to Pakistani dramas, it can be intimidating to play the antagonist, given how attached the audience gets to the characters. There have been incidents of fans going after actors for a character they played.

If you hate a character on-screen, chances are that the artist behind them did a fine job.

Here are a few of our favorite on-screen bad guys who were portrayed by Pakistani actors.

1. Gohar Rasheed

From Digest Writer to Mann Mayal this man will make you hate his characters with such conviction, you forget he’s the good guy from the movie Seedlings.

Even now he has the audience rooting against him in Ishqiya opposite Feroze Khan and Hania Amir.

2. Nouman Ejaz

This veteran actor has an impressive and versatile portfolio behind him. But he can make you jump out of your skin when he plays a baddie. It’s probably how Nauman does characterization, making you think that he could be someone you know.

He’s played a villain every generation. This is evident in his roles from Nijat, Mera Saein, Dumpukht, Rehai, Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi, and Dar Si Jati Hei Sila.

3. Bilal Abbas

We’ve seen this actor take on roles that are all over the place on a spectrum. However, he had us baffled when we learnt he was the antagonist in Cheekh.

Who would’ve thought charming ‘Waji‘ could go to all lengths just to get what he wanted.

4. Saba Qamar

Speaking of Cheekh, while we may now Saba Qamar to play the hero, even unconventional ones, she’s no stranger to the dark side. The actress has played a baddie in Maat and I Love You Bunty. Hard to believe she’s the bad guy in I Love You Bunty, right?

She has us empathize with the antagonist to the point where we can’t even hate her.

5. Ahsan Khan

While he may have stolen our hearts in Dastaan and Alif, Ahsan Khan has played some pretty memorable villains. While he wasn’t such a great antagonist in Parsa, we can’t get over his performance in Pani Jaisa Pyar and Udaari.

6. Adnan Siddiqui

Way before Ye Dil Mera, Adnan Siddiqui had already played some of our favorite villains in Maat, Mere Qatil Mere Dildar, and Mere Pass Tum Ho.

He is one of those actors that have you rooting for the bad guy at times.

7. Syed Jibran

Syed Jibran as the antagonist ‘Numair’ in Chup Raho.

From Chup Raho, Ghairat, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, and now even in Tarap, Syed Jibran plays the antagonist we’d all fall for. He harmlessly grooms his victims, until they realize it too late.

8. Hania Amir

Both times that Hania Amir played an antagonist, we couldn’t tell if we should hate her or hope that she becomes a better person.

We had a weird relationship with her character in Titli. Oddly enough, we feel the same for her role in Dilruba.

9. Sonam Chaudhry

This actress has often played the antagonist in dramas such as Mere Mehrban, Tere Mere Beech, and Rubaru Tha Ishq.

Yet her role in Ghar Titli Ka Par is what really had us acknowledge how good she is at playing a baddie.

10. Neelum Munir

We’ve seen Neelum Munir play a baddie in drama serials like Mere Mehrban, and Dil Nawaz,. But nothing beats her role as an antagonist in Dil Moom Ka Diya.

She had us seething with rage, crying, and wishing she was a better person throughout the course of the drama.
