Most celebrities are stereotyped as individuals who let go of their studies to pursue their careers in the entertainment industry. Especially singers, who have to take music lessons and dedicate most of their time to practicing and perfecting their skills. These Pakistani female singers, however, hold a graduate degree and still managed to become famous musicians.

When it comes to girls’ education, our country lacks proper resources. Even if those resources were available, it’s not unusual for these girls to be married off soon in a desi society as ours.

But as they say, where there’s a will, there’s definitely a way/ These Pakistani celebrities are good role models for girls, who not only completed their education but also became independent and successful ladies.

Let’s take a look at who these boss ladies are:

Momina Mustehsan

Remember the Coke Studio remake of Nusrat Sahib’s Afreen Afreen? The song broke records in online viewership. It also marked the debut of teenage singer Momina Mustehsan. She has since been adored by her fans for both; her music and her personality.

 

 

However, what most of her fans don’t know is that she is a biomedical engineer. Not only has she completed her Bachelor’s degree, but she also wishes to get her Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from abroad.

 

 

Zebunnisa Bangash

The 38-year-old Pakistani singer/songwriter has had a lot of hit singles. She started her music career along with her first cousin as part of the band Zeb and Haniya. Zebunnisa is loved for her sweet voice, especially for her song Aaja Re Moray Saiyaan from Coke Studio.

 

 

She completed her graduate degree in Economics and Art History from Mount Holyoake College in the United States.

 

 

Nazia Hassan

The late Nazia Hassan has been known as the ‘Queen of Pop’ in South Asia. From ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ to the ‘Disco Song‘, Nazia gave her fans one hit song after the other.

 

 

Despite starting her music career at the early age of 10, Nazia still managed to complete her studies. She not only had a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics, but also an LLB (Law) degree. She completed both her degrees in London.

 

 

Meesha Shafi

Meesha Shafi is not only a Pakistani musician but also a model and an actress. She received a lot of love and admiration for her song Alif Allah Chambey di Booty on Coke Studio.

 

 

The star completed her studies in Lahore at the National College of Arts. She has a degree in Fine Arts to her name.

 

 

Hadiqa Kiani

Hadiqa Kiani is one of the most legendary singers/songwriters of Pakistan. She has received countless national and international awards for her work in the music industry. And no matter what your age, you might have listened to at least one or two songs by Hadiqa.

 

 

She completed her bachelor’s in Psychology from Kinnaird College for Women University. Later she got her master’s degree in Psychology from GCW, Lahore.
