The Pakistani television industry has seen rapid growth in terms of exposure and popularity over the last couple of years. Thanks to that, we now get to see many talented, young, and new faces in our dramas. But to be honest, we miss some of our best actors who haven’t taken up a TV serial in a long time.
This doesn’t mean that we don’t appreciate our new and emerging actors but it is just that we also want to see some of our favorite actors back on television.
Some of these actors are doing a great job on the big screen. Some of them prioritize films over dramas, while some have moved towards production which is why they appear less in dramas. Some actors have their own differences with the type of content being produced so they are more thorough with the scripts and the offers they get.
But what about the fans? Like you and me? Here are 6 Pakistani actors whose fans are dying to see them again on the small screen.
Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan has put her television activities on pause for about 6 years now. She last appeared in Hum TV’s Sadqay Tumhare alongside Adnan Siddiqui. She then moved towards cinema which gave her immense popularity and success.
Each and every one of her dramas are remembered fondly even to this day. Mahira believes that actors develop a connection with the viewers through their dramas and we are hopeful that we will be able to connect with her soon.
Maya Ali
Maya Ali has also taken a break from the drama industry for a while now and that’s because she has been focusing on her film career. She was last seen in the 2016-2017 drama Sanam and then made her film debut with Teefa in Trouble in 2018.
Following the success of her first film, she decided to work in Parey Hut Love, which again did very well at the box office. All of this explains why she prioritizes working in the films more than dramas, however, she has never said that she will no longer work in dramas. So we have a chance, maybe a teeny weensy chance, for her to sign up for a new TV serial.

Samiya Mumtaz
Samiya Mumtaz is a phenomenal actress. But she is one of those who fell victim to being typecast very often. Although she does her best to make her characters appear more fresh and original, but at the same time she tries not to take on projects that have more or less the same storyline and characters. Perhaps this is why she is hardly ever seen in dramas these days. We hope a producer out there is listening to this input.
Ahmed Ali Akbar
Ahmed has had a successful acting career no matter which drama or movie he starred in. He was recently seen in Ehd-e-Wafa but it seems that it wasn’t enough for his fans. They want to see him appear in more dramas and who knows, he might drop another hit project very soon.
Farhan Saeed
Who doesn’t love the former Jal member? Farhan has amazed his fans through not only his singing but his acting as well. Although he has only done a handful of dramas, they were all very successful. He has experimented with various genres and has proved himself as a versatile actor. His fans will be more than excited to him in the upcoming ARY Digital drama Prem Gali alongside Sohai Ali Abro.
Asif Raza Mir
Age doesn’t matter when it comes to talent and that’s what we have learned from our senior actors, like Asif Raza Mir. He has taken up all sorts of roles throughout his careers and portrayed them with perfection. Right now he is involved in the British TV series Gangs of London.
Though he is technically working right now, wouldn’t it be great if he could do a drama with his son Ahad Raza Mir? Pakistani drama fanatics are looking forward to such a collaboration for far too long now.
