While people were crashing parties, Mathira crashed her car. The actress, model, VJ (and whatever else she is) almost died in a deadly car accident in Dubai.
Not everyone had the best New Year’s Eve, Mathira included. The model shared that she was lucky to have survived the brutal impact of two trucks against her friend Sara’s car.
The model posted photographs of herself in a neck brace as well as a photograph of the totaled vehicle.
With the photographs, Mathira added that she was ‘blessed and saved’ to have survived the ordeal.
News outlets later reported that besides the neck brace, Mathira sustained other injuries including three rib fractures and a dislocated jaw. The VJ is currently admitted at Dubai’s Rashid Hospital.
Despite the trauma and the pain from the near brush with death, the VJ is eager to go home.
“I hurt from my neck to my back….but I want to go home.”
‘It could have been worse.’
Speaking of the accident, the model revealed that it could have been worse. She said that a truck had hit their car from the back which caused one tyre to burst and the car spun out of control. When the vehicle went out of control on a busy highway, it smashed into another truck.
Given that they were disoriented on the freeway with a car out of control, Mathira mentions that they were almost hit by a third automobile. She added that the driver of a Land Cruiser swerved to avoid impact and saved them from being hit a third time.
“But the Land cruiser driver took a risk and [swerved] to save us. God bless that person.”
The model shared via Instagram that she’s grateful for God to have ‘kept her close and blessed’.

The Naagin star shared videos of her and Sara chatting and singing in the former’s car before the accident and said that “bad eyes” (as in, nazar) and “ill wishers” caused her harm.
