The Minister of Climate Change, Zartaj Gul Wazir’s explanation for why climate change occurs will leave you scratching your head.
Recently, a reporter asked the Minister how there’s been a pleasant change in the weather, and her ‘explanation’ just became a viral story in itself.
Watch how she responded:
Waisay I still can’t believe that we have a “Ministry of Climate Change”
And we have THIS woman as “Minister of Climate Change”
Can you imagine what goes on in that ministry??!
“Madam climate aur weather mein furk hota hai”
“HAAINN?!!!” 😳

Anyone who lives in the tropics knows well that chilly winds and rains are quite the norm.
When a reporter clarified that, Zartaj Gul Wazir said that the rains that her area was receiving was due to the government ‘pure’ character. We really hope she made that remark in jest.
Ms. Gul then went on to explain her remarks. She said that she once read a hadith that when ‘pious rulers’ come into power, a country is blessed with rainfall.
Twitter Has a Field Day Over Zartaj Gul’s Remarks
While having a Ministry of Climate Change is a positive development, the person in charge of it needs to do better.
Pakistani Twitterati obviously had a laugh about it.
Someone tell her that these rains of March are not good for wheat crops, they don’t get yellow on time and fall from over growth.

People are already comparing her to Trump, who also takes climate change pretty lightly.
Why it is raining so much in USA this year? Now I get it Trump must be very neak!

This is President Trump's logic.. yes she is minister , she knows better. Lol

We certainly do hope that the good Minister wasn’t serious here. Given Prime Minister Imran Khan’s focus on securing our environment, he needs qualified people at helm. After all, its not every day that a nation drags its arch-rival to the United Nations over destroying a few trees.
