A college lecturer was fired after he married his college student, in Abbottabad. Government Postgraduate Girls College Haripur administration has also expelled the student from college for marrying the lecturer.

Previously the Government Postgraduate Girls College Haripur English lecturer, Rafaqat Hussain, and his now-wife, Zainab Ali were suspended from college after their TikTok went viral. The college stated that they ‘violated college rules’ off-campus.

At the time, the two had come clean about their relationship and intention to get married. They also asserted that they had not posted their viral TikTok video themselves, rather it was shared by someone else in an apparent breach of their privacy.

Even then, the couple had contested the legality of their suspension from the college.

Meanwhile, the college Education Department claims Rafaqat Hussain was fired after investigating a maiden viral video from a student.

Married Now

According to Naya Daur‘s sources, Rafaqat Hussain (38), a resident of Trangadi, Mansehra and Zainab Ali (24) of Haripur were legally married yesterday with the permission of Abbottabad court.

Much like the couple had previously asserted they would, they were married with blessings from their family. Zainab’s mother and the couple’s friends were there to support the couple.

According to the report, Rafaqat Hussain is already married and has three children. Just recently English teacher Rafaqat Hussain and student Zainab were suspended by Government Postgraduate Girls College Haripur when their TikTok video went viral.

The suspension further fanned the flame as people debated how the college was exerting its control in personal affairs.

Zainab Ali had also revealed that the college would not issue her a leaving certificate.

The question remains whether the couple will press legal charges on Government Postgraduate Girls College Haripur? Would the matter lead to settlement as often is the case in lawsuits against organizations or conviction?
