Mariyam Nafees Opens Up About Being Harassed [Video]

The actress shares screenshot of her interaction with her harasser.

Mariyam Nafees is a talented actress. In a very short amount of time, the young actress has made a name for herself. Although she has been doing mostly supporting roles on television dramas, Mariyam has captured everyone’s attention with her performances.

However, behind all the glitz and glamour, there is a dark side to the showbiz industry. Recently, Mariyam opened up about harassment incidents she had to go through.

There are people out there who think that actresses have no worth whatsoever and can be bought for their own amusement. Mariyam shared a story about how a man had blatantly asked her some inappropriate questions.

“Actress hu, prostitute nahi. (I’m an actress, not a prostitute) I’m sick of these proposals and I’ve tried whatever I could to make them stop but this is what I’m going to do now. It affects my mental health, it disturbs me that some people think this is what my business is. NO! I’M NOT FOR SALE!,” wrote Mariyam on her Instagram

She also shared a screenshot of the conversation she had with the man in question.

Responding to Mariyam’s story, fellow actress Armeena Khan also shared her unfortunate encounter with the very same man. He had messaged her as well some time ago and she had put him in his place without hesitation.

“Never let it bring you down – physically, emotionally, mentally……because the fault is with them, not you.”

It is disturbing to see such kind of behavior in our society. We can only hope that some action is taken against the man in question. Share your thoughts on this issue in the comments below.
