Geo Network isn’t the only one in the biz that has vowed to no longer work with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. Now producer Angeline Malik announced that she’s also following suit.
The filmmaker and actress called for the rest of the entertainment industry to do the same after the screenwriter made distasteful comments about Adnan Malik.
Adnan Malik is known for roles like ‘Romeo’ in Cake, and ‘Aamir’ in Bin Roye. Recently the actor was shamed by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for being vocal on women issues. The screenwriter deems such an act effeminate and condemnable.

Angeline Malik condemned the derogatory remarks that are disrespectful towards the transgender community. She called on others in the fraternity to not provide the Pyarey Afzal writer with their platform to spread hate speech.
“This has gone too far. I understand that whatever he says on television is deemed as freedom of speech, but how can you provide him a platform to spew hatred?”
According to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) television channels are responsible for self-censorship when it comes to who they provide their platform to. Since PEMRA cannot take action against people using the platform like the Sadqay Tumhare writer, they can only reprimand the channel.

No channel has learned from this yet, as they pay the fine and walk away. Angeline Malik called on television channels to be responsible in this regard and not provide a platform for prejudice and hate.
“It is sad that no channel is taking any stand and instead is encouraging this filth by allowing him to speak without any censorship on their platform.”
“We all in this industry, may it be male or female actor, director or producer must collectively decide never to work with this filth. He has insulted each and every one of us. If we all take this stand today no channel or producer will ever purchase his script or produce any serial or film written by him, that will be his end as a writer then he can bark as much as he wants to.”
