Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi Claims Malir Comes From Malaria and So Does Coronavirus [Video]

Wait, what?

Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi

Looks like the hysteria surrounding Coronavirus is even distorting people’s perception of history. Or maybe it’s just Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi.

The Islamic scholar ‘revealed’ that the novel Coronavirus is nothing more than just malaria.

During an interview with a media outlet, the scholar first tried to explain the history of the Macedonian conqueror Alexander the Great and his invasion of the sub-continent. He had some ‘interesting’ bits to share about why Malir is called Malir, among other things that will leave you scratching your head.

You will have to watch the whole thing to believe it:

He offered no explanation as to how he came to that conclusion. Maybe this has to do with the fact that some doctors in Pakistan are using chloroquinie, an anti-malarial drug, to treat COVID-19?

In any case, we wish to inform our readers that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Coronavirus = Malaria ?

Of all the conspiracy theories the Corona pandemic has sparked, this one is the most bizarre. Now the reason COVID-19 is called a novel virus is that we’ve seen nothing like it before. We do know that it comes from the Coronavirus family, like the SARS virus, and scientists are still trying to figure out how it is transmitted.

Malaria, on the other hand, is a disease caused by a parasite plasmodium in the blood. Malaria is neither caused by a virus or bacteria. Since the disease is caused by a blood parasite, it is spread via a vector, the mosquito. Therefore, malaria is not contagious.

Coronavirus, on the other hand, is a zoonotic virus that spread from animal to human first, and is now being transmitted via human to human contact, making it contagious.

One wishes that learned scholars like Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi relied on scientific research to base their observations on.

  1. Allama is a religious cleric and asking question about medical science is foolish. It seems the media men deliberately ask such irrelevant question just to make fun of the cleric. If media men want to ask about COVID-19 they should go to a scientist, microbiologist or at least a doctor.
