Following the disastrous rains in Pakistan’s biggest city, many areas in Karachi are still reeling from its aftermath. 5 days have passed without electricity and with water still standing on the streets of DHA, Karachi.
Matters have come to a head as many angry residents are now protesting outside Cantonment Board Clifton [CBC] office. CBC oversees Defence areas as well as Clifton in Karachi. They charge their residents the year-round, with a promise to make lives better for them. Apparently things are not as rosy as they promised.
Here are a few examples of their negligence as shared by concerned citizens :

While in some areas electricity has finally been restored, other problems still remain.

As a result of this, people took to the CBC office to voice their complaints and say ‘enough is enough’. But it was reported that they were already equipped to deal with protesters.

#CBC protest, it’s unbelievable that these criminals have standing water in front of their office and they haven’t even cleared that. Good to see a decent turnout wasn’t expecting this. pic.twitter.com/OnhVzWS3dU

We hope the authorities wake up and realize the residents need answers that they are entitled to. Residents of DHA have been suffering quite a lot, and the CBC is nowhere near curbing the problem.
