Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s member Faisal Javed Khan took to his Twitter account to dedicate a Women’s Day post to Prime Minister Imran Khan. In case some of you don’t know; International Men’s Day is celebrated every year on 19th November. Perhaps the politician could wait till then to cash in on an international hashtag trend?
Women’s Day
Women’s Day is celebrated globally every year on 8th March. On this day, women and [educated] men take to the streets to participate in peaceful marches. The notion for this march depends on where you stand in society – some women march to celebrate the achievements of women, while others march to fight for gender equality.
In any case, it is a day, ONE DAY, out of the whole year that we dedicate to the women of the world. According to International Women’s Day’s official website, Women’s Day is explained as follows:
Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:
celebrate women’s achievements
raise awareness about women’s equality
lobby for accelerated gender parity
fundraise for female-focused charities

Who can pay the biggest tribute to a
woman than Imran Khan who saw his
mother dying from cancer & opened
a hospital after her name paying a great tribute – SKMCH became the only cancer hospital in the World that provides free treatment to over 70% of patients. #HappyWomensDay

Netizens React
Did Faisal Javed dedicate a post to PM Imran Khan on Women’s Day? Netizens were quite surprised by his post – some were outright furious. Let’s take a look at some of the reactions to the PTI member’s post:
This tweet should have been more appropriate on Sons’ Day. As a matter of fact there was no contribution of his mum in women’s empowerment. Don’t try to please Cocaine addict on every occasion🙄😏It’s women’s day so talk about them!
