Al-Masjid an-Nabawi Disinfected with 23,000 Litres of Sterilizer

Over 23,000 litres of eco-friendly sterilizer was used to disinfect the carpets at the Mosque over the past 3 months

Al-Masjid an-Nabawi or The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia has been disinfected. This step has been taken as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country. In addition to this, many more actions are also being followed to ensure the safety of the public.

Earlier it was revealed that Saudi Arabia will re-open international flights on 17th May 2021. Now, pictures of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi getting disinfected are doing rounds on social media. Reportedly, a total of 23,000 litres of eco-friendly sterilizer was used to disinfect the carpets at the Mosque over the past 3 months.

 

 

In addition to this, the Bab Al-Salam corridor was also disinfected during this time period. According to the state-run Saudi Press Agency, this step was taken to ensure the safety of the Mosque’s visitors.

It was also mentioned that multiple fragrances were used more than 7,743 times in the Mosque. Additionally, the committee in charge of overseeing the Mosque’s cleaning drive is changing 450 carpets. And the carpets used at Al-Rawda Al-Sharifa are being replaced every 10 days.

In order to avoid overcrowding at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the committee has also placed spacing marks on the carpets.
