Despite being a strong supporter of Pakistani content, veteran actor Humayun Saeed has good things to say about Turkish dramas. The Ye Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actor said that Turkish dramas have not had any negative impact on the Pakistani entertainment industry.
Dunya News reported that in an interview, Humayun Saeed said that the telecasting Turkish content has not left our national actors unemployed.
“There is a lot of work in Pakistan for the artists,” he added.
In fact, Humayun Saeed said that Turkish dramas are only helping the industry flourish.
In his appearance on Zindagi With Sajid Hasan, the Dil Lagi actor explained how he’s working on a Turkish production that is a good opportunity for local artists.

Back in 2012 when Urdu1 introduced Pakistani audiences to Turkish blockbuster Ishq-e-Memnu, Humayun Saeed wasn’t a Turkish drama supporter but he wasn’t a hater either. At the time, the Six Sigma Entertainment producer said people will come around to Pakistani content soon enough.
“If channels want to show foreign content then by all means they should show it but by subtitling it in the national language. When Star Plus serials appeared on our TV screens viewership base shifted and some came back because we raised the quality of our dramas. However, Star Plus serials continue to be shown albeit illegally on cable channels and it has never been completely eliminated.”
Now the actor-cum-producer is collaborating with the team that created diriliş ertuğrul to create a period drama of their own. In the past, period dramas like Mor Mahal brutally flopped despite marketing efforts and producers breaking the bank to capture the grandeur of the past.
Maybe an expert’s touch is what we needed. Good thing Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui have that covered.
