Sania Mirza is a very popular sports figure in Asia. The Indian tennis player is a former doubles world No. 1 in the world. The 35-year-old may not be in action these days but has made her mark in the sports. She has won six Grand Slam titles in her illustrious career.
People mainly know her a no-nonsense athlete but did you know, Sania Mirza came close to joining the Bollywood industry? Not only that, the tennis star was going to do an “item number” in a Bollywood film!
“Main item number nahi karungi Jo karna hai karwaale”
Recently, Sania and her husband, Shoaib Malik, sat down for a chat on The Couple Show with Hina and Aagha Ali Abbas. During the interview, Sania revealed she was offered to do an “item number” for a movie. At the time, Sajid Khan, a close friend, made the suggestion.
According to the tennis star, Sajid is like a brother to her, and did his best to persuade her. He stated that it would just be a dance and she would not be wearing revealing clothes. However, Sania simply refused.
The talk show host asks if she would consider doing any showbiz projects in the near future. Sania simply states that phrase “never say never” as anything can happen. Check out the interview here.
