An old interview of the Sabaat star surfaced online, about problematic beauty standards for mainstream onscreen male actors. Prior to his Anaa fame, the actor was actually supposed to make his drama debut with another project.
Usman Mukhtar explained how he even began shooting for the project. However, when the date of the second schedule was shared, the Parchi actor received an unpleasant message from the production house. They asked him if he had lost weight?
“Wazan kam kiya?”
He had not even been informed that should he lose weight, he would lose the project. Usman Muktar then talked about the pressure of going up against such beauty standards.
While the actor didn’t name the project, Netizens found a behind-the-scenes photograph of Usman Mukhtar from the sets of Dil Kya Karay. The Mehreen Jabbar production later cast Mirza Zain Baig in the second schedule.
Currently, the Janaan actor is riding high on the success of his latest hit Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay. On the other hand, he is set to star in a crime thriller. He will be playing a policeman in the project.
