Assam Couple Goes Viral Over Quirky Wedding Contract

As couples get more comfortable voicing their needs, we’ve seen some peculiar weddings as of late. Yet, a wedding in Assam has to top the list of peculiar demands as the couple specified many conditions in the wedding contract.

A couple from the Indian state of Assam garnered a lot of attention online as word got out about their quirky conditions in their wedding agreement. A video clip was shared by Wedlock Photography Assam on their Instagram handle.

Shanti and Mintu made a point to particularly mention food preferences such as ‘one pizza a month’ when signing the wedding contract. That’s not all, the contract had quite a few quirky requests aside from ‘one pizza a month‘. Other conditions include always saying yes to ‘ghar ka khana (homemade food)’, must and should wear saree every day, late night parties ‘allowed but only with me‘, going to the gym daily, making Sunday breakfast, taking good pictures at every party, and going shopping every 15 days.

After they tied the knot, Shanti Prasad, 24, of Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati and Mintu Rai have been the center of discussion for Netizens.

What does the couple think about the opinions online. Well Shanti said;

“Our family was very happy with the agreement.”

With the video having been viewed over 40 million times, there have been tons of reactions. Some people were amused by the terms on the  wedding contract.

Other Netizens called out how some conditions in the contract wree ‘toxic. Some even took offense at the ‘archaic and sexist‘ conditions.

Then there were all the opinions about the couple agreeing to have only one pizza every month. Will that be enough?
